ABOUT

Homer & Jethro were a highly acclaimed country music duo consisting of Henry D. "Homer" Haynes (July 27, 1920 - August 7, 1971) and Kenneth C. "Jethro" Burns (March 10, 1920 - February 4, 1989) that became famous during the late 1940s and 1950s. Best known for their satirical versions of then-popular songs, their biggest hits include "(How Much Is) That Hound Dog In The Window" (1953, a parody of Patti Page's "The Doggie In The Window"), and "The Battle Of Kookamonga" (1959, a parody of Johnny Horton's "The Battle Of New Orleans"). Homer & Jethro were honored with a Grammy Award in 1959 and were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2001.
