ABOUT

Howard Hewett is a highly acclaimed and veteran singer-songwriter who became famous beginning in the late 1970s as the lead vocalist of Shalamar. As a solo artist, he is best known for the self-penned R&B/hip-hop ballad, "This Is For The Lover In You" (1996, as Babyface Featuring LL Cool J, Howard Hewett, Jody Watley & Jeffrey Daniels), an R&B Top 5 smash remake of a Shalamar 1981 hit that made the Pop/Rock Top 10 and became his greatest crossover success. Other big hits include "I'm For Real" (1986) and "Show Me" (1990). Hewett and Shalamar contributed a track to the "Beverly Hills Cop" (1984) soundtrack which won a Grammy in 1986.
