Hoyt Axton (March 25, 1938 - October 26, 1999) was a highly acclaimed country singer, songwriter, guitarist, and actor who became famous beginning in the early 1960s. His many hits include "When The Morning Comes" (1974) and "Boney Fingers" (1974), which both made the Country charts Top 10. A prolific songwriter for other artists, he penned such top hits as "Never Been To Spain" and "Joy To The World" for Three Dog Night.
