ABOUT
Humble Pie is a veteran English hard rock band that became famous beginning in the early 1970s. One of rock music's first supergroups of the 1960s-1970s, the original lineup consisted of famed guitarist Peter Frampton, singer/guitarist Steve Marriott of Small Faces, bassist Greg Ridley of Spooky Tooth, and drummer Jerry Shirley of The Apostolic Intervention, with many personnel changes over the years. Their best known songs, many of which gained a following on album oriented rock (AOR) and classic rock radio stations, include the hard-driving and bluesy "I Don't Need No Doctor" (1971), the funky "Hot 'N Nasty" (1972), the energetic, bass-driven "30 Days In The Hole" (1972), the soulful Tina Turner-penned "Black Coffee" (1973), and the power ballad, "Fool For A Pretty Face (Hurt By Love)" (1980).
