The Ink Spots were a highly acclaimed and influential vocal pop group with a unique musical style predating R&B and doo-wop that became internationally famous during the late 1930s and the 1940s. Their long string of hits includes such chart-toppers as "Address Unknown" (1939), "Into Each Life Some Rain Must Fall" (1944), "I'm Making Believe" (1944), "The Gypsy" (1946), and "To Each His Own" (1946), many of which showcase the clear, ethereal high tenor vocals of lead singer Bill Kenny. Their numerous honors include being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (1989) and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame (1999).
