James Gilreath

James Gilreath (November 14, 1936 - September 7, 2003) was a pop singer and songwriter who became famous during the early 1960s. He is best known for the Top 40 smash, "Little Band Of Gold" (1963), which also made the R&B Top 20 and was covered by many artists. Gilreath's songwriting credits for other artists also include "Why Not Tonight," which became an R&B Top 5 hit in 1967 for Jimmy Hughes.
