James Ingram

James Ingram (February 16, 1952 - January 29, 2019) was a two-time Grammy-winning R&B singer, songwriter, and producer with a great deal of crossover appeal who became famous during the 1980s and early 1990s. He is best known for the smooth romantic ballad, "Baby Come To Me" (1982), a duet with Patti Austin and an R&B Top 5 smash that became his biggest crossover success, topping the Pop/Rock and Adult Contemporary charts. Other hits include such chart-toppers as "What About Me?" (1984), "The Secret Garden (Sweet Seduction Suite)" (1990), and "I Don't Have The Heart" (1990). He also had a major hit with "Somewhere Out There" (1986), recorded with Linda Ronstadt for the animated movie, "An American Tail."
