Jamie Horton (b. Gayla Rienette Peevey) is a former singer and child star from Oklahoma City, OK who became famous beginning in the early 1950s. As Jamie Horton, she is best known for "My Little Marine" (1960), which kicks off with a pop/doo-wop adaptation of the "Marines' Hymn." Other hits include the holiday novelty song, "I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas" (1953), a Top 40 smash she recorded at age 10 under her real name.
