Ellen Jane Froman (November 10, 1907 - April 22, 1980) was a popular actress, singer, and variety TV show host with distinctive contralto vocals who became famous as a recording artist during the early 1950s. Over her long career, she performed on stage, radio, and TV despite chronic health problems from injuries sustained in a 1943 plane crash. Her best known songs include "I'll Walk Alone" (1952), which was featured in her biographical movie, "With A Song In My Heart" (1952), starring Susan Hayward.
