The Jayhawks

ABOUT

The Jayhawks were an R&B/doo-wop group from Los Angeles led by James Johnson that became famous during the mid 1950s. They are best known for the quirky novelty smash, "Stranded In The Jungle" (1956), which also became a hit that same year for The Cadets and The Gadabouts. After a number of personnel changes, The Jayhawks morphed to The Vibrations (of "The Watusi" fame) who also recorded as The Marathons (of "Peanut Butter" fame).
