Jermaine Jackson (b. 1954) is a highly acclaimed R&B/pop singer and songwriter who first became famous beginning in the mid 1960s as a member of The Jackson 5/Jacksons, serving as bassist and, at times, second lead singer after Michael. Best known as a solo artist for the funky "Let's Get Serious" (1980), other major hits include the doo-wop styled ballad, "Daddy's Home" (1972), which became a million-seller, and the smooth "Do What You Do" (1984), the latter of which topped the Adult Contemporary chart. He was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with the Jackson 5 (1997).
