Jesse Belvin (December 15, 1932 - February 6, 1960) was a a highly acclaimed R&B singer, songwriter, and pianist who became famous beginning in the early 1950s as one half of the duo, Jesse & Marvin. As a solo artist, he is best known for "Goodnight My Love (Pleasant Dreams" (1956) and "Guess Who" (1959). With Curtis Williams of The Penguins, he co-wrote the oldies classic, "Earth Angel." Belvin's life was tragically cut short at age 27 in an auto accident.
