Jim Backus (February 25, 1913 - July 3, 1989) was a highly acclaimed and veteran comedian and actor whose many roles included millionaire Thurston Howell II on "Gilligan's Island." He made a splash on the charts in 1958 with the comedic and mostly spoken "Delicious!" (as Jim Backus & Friend).
