Jim Weatherly is a highly acclaimed and veteran pop/country singer and songwriter who became famous during the mid 1970s. As a performing artist, he is best known for "The Need To Be" (1974), a Top 20 hit. He has also written hit songs for other artists that include "Midnight Train To Georgia" as made famous by Gladys Knight & The Pips. Weatherly was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2014.
