Jimmy Wakely (February 16, 1914 - September 23, 1982) was a popular country singer, songwriter, actor, and one of the last singing cowboys who appeared in dozens of movie Westerns over his long career. He topped both the Pop and Country charts in 1949 with "Slippin' Around" and also had many hit duets with Margaret Whiting.
