ABOUT
Joe Darensbourg (July 9, 1906 - May 24, 1985) was a New Orleans-based jazz clarinetist and saxophonist who became famous during the late 1950s. He is best known for his instrumental rendition of the W.C. Hardy-penned "Yellow Dog Blues" (1958, with his Dixie Flyers). Over his long career, Darensbourg worked with Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton, and many other jazz greats.
