John Lee Hooker

John Lee Hooker (August 22, 1912 or 1917 - June 21, 2001) was a celebrated blues singer, songwriter, and guitarist who became famous beginning in the late 1940s. He topped the R&B charts with "Boogie Chillen'" (1949) and "I'm In The Mood" (1951) and had his biggest Pop/Rock crossover success with the catchy "Boom Boom" (1962). His numerous honors and accolades include being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1991.
