Kitty Wells (August 30, 1919 - July 16, 2012) was a country star who became famous beginning in the 1950s. She topped the Country charts with "It Wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels" (1952), "One By One" (1954), and "Heartbreak U.S.A." (1961), and her numerous other hits included the Pop/Rock crossover, "Jealousy" (1958). Wells was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1976 and honored with the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1991.
