Les Crane (December 3, 1933 - July 13, 2008, b. Lesley Stein) was a veteran radio announcer and TV talk show host with a trademark confrontational style who became famous as a performing artist during the early 1970s. He is best known for the spoken Top 10 Grammy-winning smash, "Desiderata" (1971). Crane transitioned to the software industry in the 1980s and became the chairman of The Software Toolworks (later Mindscape).
