The Limeliters are a veteran folk music group that became famous during the early 1960s. They are best known for the cheery story song, "A Dollar Down" (1961). Formed in 1959 by Lou Gottlieb (August 10, 1923 - July 11, 1996), Alex Hassilev (July 11, 1932 - April 21, 2024), and Glenn Yarbrough (January 12, 1930 - August 11, 2016), The Limeliters have had many personnel changes over the years and have remained active to the present day.
