Loleatta Holloway (November 5, 1946 - March 21, 2011) was an R&B singer with powerful vocals who became famous beginning in the mid 1970s with the lovelorn "Cry To Me" (1975, not to be confused with the same-named Betty Harris song), an R&B Top 10 hit and her biggest Pop/Rock crossover success. Her fame took off during the early 1980s with such disco classics as "Love Sensation" (1980), which topped the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart. She is also the featured vocalist in Marky Mark & The Funky Bunch's chart-topping "Good Vibrations" (1991, not to be confused with the same-named Beach Boys song). Holloway remains among the most widely sampled female singers in pop music.
