Lorraine Ellison (March 17, 1931 - January 31, 1983, b. Marybelle Luraine Ellison) was an R&B singer with powerful, soulful vocals who, during the early 1960s, sang gospel with the Ellison Singers and the Golden Chords before going solo in 1964. Her best known songs include the soaring "Stay With Me" (1966).
