Louis Jordan (July 8, 1908 - February 4, 1975) was a highly acclaimed and influential R&B/jazz singer, songwriter, saxophonist, bandleader, and pioneer of jump blues who became famous beginning in the late 1930s. His many signature songs include "G.I. Jive" (1944), "Is You Is Or Is You Ain't (Ma' Baby)" (1944), "Caldonia" (1945), "Choo Choo Ch'Boogie" (1946), "Ain't Nobody Here But Us Chickens" (1947), "Let The Good Times Roll" (1947), and "Saturday Night Fish Fry (Parts I & II)" (1949). His numerous honors include being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as an early influence in shaping R&B and rock & roll.
