The Manhattan Brothers were a popular and influential South African vocal group that became famous during the 1950s. For most of that decade, the lineup included Miriam Makeba who served as lead singer, later going on to international fame. They are best known in the U.S. for "Lovely Lies" (1956), a song that explores themes of love and deception.
