Marjorie Hughes (b. Marjorie Carle) is a former big band/pop singer who became famous during the mid-late 1940s. The daughter of bandleader and pianist Frankie Carle, she began as a singer in her father's band, Frankie Carle & His Orchestra. In 1946, they topped the Pop charts with her vocals on "Oh, What It Seemed To Be," a song co-written by her father. Hughes also had another hit with "You Told A Lie" (1949), which made the Top 20.
