ABOUT
Marv Johnson (October 15, 1938 - May 16, 1993) was an influential R&B singer, songwriter, and pianist who became famous during the late 1950s and early 1960s and helped define the Motown sound. He debuted on both the Pop/Rock and R&B charts with the self-penned (with Berry Gordy) "Come To Me" (1959), which became the first single to be released on the newly-formed Tamla label, later a subdivision of Motown. Best known for the upbeat "You Got What It Takes" (1959, not to be confused with the same-named Joe Tex hit) and "I Love The Way You Love" (1960), his many other hits on both charts include "(You've Got To) Move Two Mountains" (1960) and "Happy Days" (1960).
