Mickey Gilley (March 9, 1936 - May 7, 2022) was a highly acclaimed and veteran country music singer, businessman, actor, and musician who became famous beginning in the late 1960s. His long string of hits include "Room Full Of Roses" (1974), "Stand By Me" (1980), "True Love Ways" (1980), and "You Don't Know Me" (1981), which all topped the Country charts and became his biggest crossover successes. His cover of "Stand By Me" was featured in the soundtrack to "Urban Cowboy" (1980). Gilley was a cousin of Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl McVoy, and Jimmy Swaggart.
