Paula Abdul is a highly acclaimed and veteran pop singer, songwriter, dancer, choreographer, actress, TV personality, and former cheerleader for the Los Angeles Lakers who became hugely popular during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Her many smash hits include "Rush, Rush" (1991), which topped both the Adult Contemporary and Pop/Rock charts. Abdul was one of the original judges on "American Idol" from 2002-2009 and has since then served as a judge on several other shows.
