ABOUT

The Pete Klint Quintet was a pop group from Mason City, IA led by guitarist Pete Klint that became famous during the late 1960s. They are best known for the uplifting and soulful "Walkin' Proud" (1967), a song about self-respect and pride after a breakup. At the height of their fame, The Pete Klint Quintet was especially popular in Iowa and surrounding states and amassed a loyal following. They were inducted into the Iowa Rock 'n Roll Music Hall of Fame in 1999.
