Peter Brown (b. July 11, 1953) is a veteran R&B singer, keyboardist, and producer who became famous during the late 1970s. He had his greatest Pop/Rock crossover success with "Dance With Me" (1978), and other hits on the R&B charts include "Do Ya Wanna Get Funky With Me" (1977) and "Crank It Up (Funk Town) Pt. 1" (1979). Brown's songwriting credits include Madonna's 1984 smash, "Material Girl," which he co-wrote with Robert Rains.
