Preston Eugene Epps (July 19, 1930 - May 9, 2019) was a percussionist from Mangum, OK who became famous during the late 1950s. He is best known for the self-penned rock & roll instrumental smash, "Bongo Rock" (1959), and its follow-up, "Bongo Bongo Bongo" (1960). He served as a session musician in the 1960s and 1970s and continued performing in the Southern California area into the 1990s.
