Rev. Martin Luther King (January 15, 1929 - April 4, 1968, b. Michael King Jr.) was a celebrated and history-making civil rights activist, Baptist minister, political philosopher, and the recipient of the 1964 Nobel Peace Prize who also made his mark as a recording artist during the tumultuous 1960s. His iconic "I Have A Dream" speech, given on August 28, 1963 in Washington D.C. to an audience of over 250,000, became a hit on the Pop/Rock charts in 1968 in the wake of his assassination that year. He also recorded several Billboard 200 charting albums of speeches from 1963-1968.
