Richard Hayman (March 27, 1920 - February 5, 2014, b. Richard Warren Joseph Hayman) was an orchestra leader, harmonica player, and the longtime chief music arranger of the Boston Pops Orchestra who became famous as a recording artist during the early 1950s. He is best known for his Top 5 instrumental cover of "Ruby" (1953), the main theme from the movie, "Ruby Gentry" (1952), starring Jennifer Jones, Charlton Heston, and Karl Malden. Hayman's unique arrangement features himself as harmonica soloist. Over his long career, he created musical arrangements for such top acts as Bob Hope, Liza Minnelli, Olivia Newton-John, and Barbra Streisand.
