Robin Gibb (December 22, 1949 - May 20, 2012) was a highly acclaimed and veteran English singer and songwriter with a luminous falsetto who became famous worldwide beginning in the late 1960s as a founding member of the Bee Gees. As a solo artist, he is best known for his Top 20 smash remake of The Beatles' "Oh! Darling" (1978), which is part of the soundtrack to "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" (1978) in which Peter Frampton and the Bee Gees starred and performed. Gibb's numerous honors and accolades include being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 as a member of the Bee Gees.
