Roy Acuff

ABOUT

Roy Acuff (September 15, 1903 - November 23, 1992) was a highly acclaimed country singer, songwriter, and fiddler who became famous beginning in the late 1930s. His best known songs and greatest Pop/Rock crossover successes included the 1944 smash hits, "The Prodigal Son" and "I'll Forgive You But I Can't Forget" (both with his group, the Smoky Mountain Boys). Acuff was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1962.
