Shamus M'Cool was the alias of Richard Doyle (March 30, 1940 - January 19, 1990), a Los Angeles-based stand-up comedian and talk show host who became famous as a recording artist during the 1970s and early 1980s. Best known for the country rocker, "American Memories" (1981), he had his biggest hit in 1973 with the Christmas novelty Top 20 smash, "Santa's Little Helper, Dingo" (1973).
