The Soulful Strings


The Soulful Strings were a soul-jazz instrumental group formed in Chicago and led by Richard Evans, a staff producer and musical arranger with Cadet Records, a subsidiary of Chess. The lineup included Phil Upchurch and other Cadet house band members.
