Stonewall Jackson (November 6, 1932 - December 4, 2021) was a country music singer with a great deal of crossover appeal who became famous during the late 1950s and early 1960s. Stonewall was actually his real first name; he was named after Confederate General Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson. He is best known for the catchy and upbeat "Waterloo" (1959), which topped the Country charts, made the Pop/Rock Top 5, and became his biggest crossover success. He also topped the Country charts with the story song, "B.J. The D.J." (1963), and his long string of hits through 1973 also includes his twangy country rendition of "Me And You And A Dog Named Boo" (1971) which became a Pop/Rock Top 5 hit for Lobo.
