Talmadge "Tab" Smith (January 11, 1909 - August 17, 1971) was a swing and rhythm and blues alto saxophonist who became famous during the 1950s. He topped the R&B charts in 1951 with "Because Of You," which also became a Top 20 hit on the Pop/Rock charts.
