Tane Cain (b. June 8, 1958) is a veteran actress and singer often compared to Pat Benatar who became famous as a recording artist during the early 1980s. She is best known for the imploring Top 40 smash, "Holdin' On" (1982), co-written by Pug Baker and then-husband Jonathan Cain. Her many acting credits include playing the mother of Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon) in "Legally Blonde" (2001) and its sequel, "Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde" (2003).
