Ted Heath (March 30, 1902 - November 18, 1969) was a hugely popular and veteran English bandleader and trombonist who became famous during the 1950s. He is best known in the U.S. for his instrumental hit cover of "The Faithful Hussar" (1956), which is based on the 19th century German folk song, "Der treue Husar." Ted Heath & His Music were widely considered to be Britain's greatest post-war big band, with over 100 albums that sold over 20 million copies.
