Thelma Carpenter (January 15, 1922 - May 14, 1997) was a highly acclaimed and veteran jazz singer and Broadway, TV, and movie actress who became famous beginning in the late 1930s. She made a splash on the Pop/Rock charts in 1960 with "Yes, I'm Lonesome Tonight," an answer song to Elvis Presley's "Are You Lonesome To-night."
