The Three Playmates were a female R&B trio from Newark, NJ made up of Gwen Brooks (January 3, 1939 - April 29, 2005) and sisters Lucille and Alma Beatty best known for the 1958 dance hit, "Sugah Wooga." Brooks later recorded solo as a jazz singer under her middle name (Dianne).
