Tim Hardin (December 23, 1941 - December 29, 1980, b. James Timothy Hardin) was a folk music and blues singer-songwriter and guitarist who became famous during the late 1960s. As a performing artist, he is best known for his hit cover of the Bobby Darin-penned "Simple Song Of Freedom" (1969). His many songwriting credits for other artists include such oldies classics as "If I Were A Carpenter," "Reason To Believe," "Misty Roses," and "The Lady Came From Baltimore."
