Arzell J. "Z. Z." Hill (September 30, 1935 - April 27, 1984) was a blues singer who became famous during the 1970s and early 1980s. Best known for the soulful ballad, "Love Is So Good When You're Stealing It" (1977), an R&B Top 20 hit, he had his biggest Pop/Rock crossover successes with the uptempo "You Were Wrong" (1964), the imploring "Don't Make Me Pay For His Mistake" (1971), and the bluesy "I Need Someone (To Love Me)" (1971). The band ZZ Top was named in his honor.
