Ian Thomas (b. July 23, 1950) is a Canadian pop singer-songwriter, actor, and author who became famous during the early 1970s. Born in Hamilton, Ontario, he began as a member of the folk group, Tranquility Base, best known for "If You're Lookin" (1970), which became a Top 40 hit on the Canadian charts. He then went on to work at the Canadian Broadcasting Company (CBC) as a producer before launching a solo career.

Thomas made his debut in 1973 on the Pop/Rock and Adult Contemporary charts with the catchy "Painted Ladies," which became a Top 40 hit on both charts. His final U.S. chart entry came in 1974 with "Long Long Way," which was a minor hit. His long string of Canadian chart hits, which continued through 1988, also included "Right Before Your Eyes" (1977), "Coming Home" (1978), "Time Is The Keeper" (1979), "Pilot" (1979), and "Levity" (1988). With The Boomers, his hits continued through 1997 and included "I Feel A Change Coming" (1996) and "Saving Face" (1997).

Ian Thomas has continued to perform and record actively to the present day. In addition to his many solo recordings, he has also released several albums with The Boomers, Air Pirates, and Lunch At Allen's. A prolific songwriter, his songs have been covered over the years by such bands and artists as America, Chicago, Manfred Mann's Earth Band, Bette Midler, and Santana. He is the younger brother of comedian and actor, Dave Thomas.
