ABOUT
Lonnie Donegan & His Skiffle Group (a.k.a. The Lonnie Donegan Skiffle Group) were an English skiffle band that became famous during the early 1960s. Their best known songs include the loveably goofy novelty smash, "Does Your Chewing Gum Lose It's Flavor (On The Bedpost Over Night)" (1961).
Skiffle was extremely popular in England throughout most of the 1950s and remained so until it was taken over by rock & roll around the early 1960s. Known as the "King Of Skiffle," Lonnie Donegan (April 29, 1931 - November 3, 2002) is widely regarded as a major influence in British pop music in a career spanning over 50 years.
