ABOUT

Born Florencia Bisenta de Casillas Martinez Cardona in El Paso, Texas, Vikki Carr had her first chart hit in 1962 with "He's A Rebel" (also made famous by The Crystals) which reached #5 in Australia and #115 in the US. She is best known by oldies music fans for "It Must Be Him" (1967), "The Lesson" (1968), and "With Pen In Hand" (1969), and her hits on both the Pop/Rock and Adult Contemporary charts also include "I'll Be Home" (1971), "The Big Hurt" (1972), and "Wind Me Up" (1975).

Carr then went on to become a Latin music superstar with a huge international following as well, especially in the U.S., Latin America, Asia, and Europe. Her many Spanish language recordings include numerous Billboard Latin chart hits and three Grammy Award-winning albums.
