ABOUT
The Coasters are a highly acclaimed and veteran doo-wop group with many personnel changes over the years that began as one of the top acts of the late 1950s. Best known for such lighthearted comedic smashes as "Yakety Yak" (1958) and "Charlie Brown" (1959), their long string of hits on both the Pop/Rock and R&B charts, most of which were written and produced by Leiber & Stoller, also includes "Searchin'" (1957), "Poison Ivy" (1959), "Run Red Run" (1959), and "Little Egypt (Ying-Yang)" (1961). The Coasters were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.
