Dave Clark Five - Songs

ABOUT

The Dave Clark Five were a highly acclaimed English rock band that became famous during the mid 1960s as one of the British Invasion's top acts with a popularity that, for a time, rivaled that of The Beatles. After bursting onto the music scene with the exuberant "Glad All Over" (1964), the band's long string of hits continued through 1967 with such classics as "Bits And Pieces" (1964), "Can't You See That She's Mine" (1964), "Because" (1964), "Catch Us If You Can" (1965), and the chart-topping "Over And Over" (1965).

Formed in 1958 in Tottenham, London and led by drummer Dave Clark who served as the band's producer, main songwriter, and occasional lead singer, the hitmaking lineup also consisted of Lenny Davidson (lead and rhythm guitars, backing and occasional lead vocals), Rick Huxley (bass and rhythm guitars, backing vocals), Denis Payton (saxophone, harmonica, rhythm guitar, backing and occasional lead vocals), and Mike Smith (keyboards, lead vocals). After The Beatles, The Dave Clark Five were the second group of the British Invasion to appear on Ed Sullivan, and they soon after became among that show's top attractions, having appeared an astounding 18 times. By early 1970, the group had disbanded, and Clark continued through 1973 as Dave Clark & Friends with several former members. The Dave Clark Five were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2008.
